This one is my first biggest spread or spreads ( 1 spread =
1 page protectors/layouts). 3 to be
exact! Couldn’t just settle for a few photos to tell the story. Simple embellishing using an old kit by cocoa
daisy and some american crafts patterned paper I’ve been wanting to use for
awhile. I finally found a reason to
hit it up in here. Combo of handwritten
& typed up journaling. Love that I can do both or one or the other. I love this project.
Highlights:
selene | maiya especially her 1st time flying by herself to
seattle | valentine’s day cards | a day in the life joint
Layout 1:
one of the
photos I stapled on top of one of the slots.
I had accidentally sealed the opening from week 6 with some embellie, so
next plan…staple it. I had done this for
some journaling last week’s so why not this week too. Doodled a border onto the journaling card.
Adhered a metal accent on top of the page protector and slapped on a sticker
border from the cocoa daisy kit.
Layout
2:
I really like this design E
protector. The big pockets enabled me to
slip in 2 handmade valentine’s day cards and be a part of this spread. The hearts patterned paper was on the dot for
this layout especially for the occasion.
The ampersand filler card is by molly porter. it’s a free download. I printed it on plain white cardstock that I
had already pre-cut to 3 x4. She’s gotta
few other ones too including 4 x 6 cards.
I cut a ribbon up from the kit and stapled it to the left hearts
patterned paper by jillibean.
Layout 3:
no photos
in this one just a journaling card that I doodled a frame on. Used the acrylic
stamp in the kit on the lettered patterned paper, slipped into the pocket and
added the bare chipboard letters on top.
Used the same stamp using gold ink and made some subtle lines on the
american crafts travel patterned paper.
You can’t see it in the photos here but I like the effect it gave. A lil peek of curiosity.
Layout 4:
photos of
maiya heading to seattle for the holiday weekend. She flew out by herself for the 1st
time. She wasn’t nervous at all.
I had to adhere each photo onto cardstock or
adhered some patterned papers to the ends of them because they printed out to 3
x5 instead of 4 x6. Lots of labels used for journaling in this layout. How about that smash stamp huh? Love that thing. It’s got little phrases and next to them is
the date side of it.
Layout 5:
a
continuation of her flight out.
man I love the ac pp! so cool I included the
collection name with the photo of her airline ticket. I got a shot of her actually boarding the
plane. I had quite a bit of negative
space in this one so I used it…used a metallic silver sharpie marker, did some
journaling, doodled border and arrows. I
also doodled a circle of her boarding. I love that marker! It gives a subtle
but cool look to it.
Layout 6:
I did a
‘day in the life’ series for 2.18.12.
I
wanted to use a different format so I chose the design B page protector. Cut up some pp & placed them in the top 3
slots. 2 of them I placed photos in and
the middle I used to title up the layout.
Letter & chipboard letter stickers to help out title it up. A little
bit of doodling on the chipboard letters.
Wrote a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 series of what went on that day and corresponded
each photo using number chipboards that maiya had given me a long time
ago. It was from some school art supply
package she had way back in the day.
Finally am using it. I’ll prob
use it all up for this project alone.
The final day of the 19th was one photo of selene really
close & personal. Added a date label
and simple journaling on a label. Then
touched that up with a doodled border with my metallic silver marker.
And there you have it…week 7!
whew! that was long! but it was a busy week.
thanks for checking it out ...and for your patience!
