featuring a fashionista

it's that time again to do a nice full reveal, fashion-week-style, on the ScrapTiffany blog today for the Weekly Challenge:  "Brads & Eyelets."  the ScrapTiffany Design Team and I have some fab-o-lous creations to show you today, so go on over and check it out and play along by clicking here: Week #29, Challenge, Part 2.

for my take, i did one on my daughter entitled "She is Maiya the Fashionista."  i used some alpha brads i got from Joann's Fabrics that were on sale as part of the title.  i also used some silver brads at the left top corner of my LO which added extra interest to the hand-cut arrows and it helped move the eyes towards the pictures.  then i decked out punched circles and punched stars with some different colored brads just to add a little texture and a little bling-y-ness to them.  for this LO, i used the Creative Scrappers sketch #112.  i love their sketches!

here it is, featuring of course, my baby boo:
and some close-ups of the brads deetz:
(supplies used:  Sassafras, Joann's, American Crafts, Fiskars, EK Success, Rubberstampede, Basic Grey)

have a beautiful friday and a great weekend!

hello summer and some last minute thangz

weeeeeehhhh it's the 1st day of summer!  yey-yah!  and it's almost time to go on our road trip.  i am not sure but this may be my last post for awhile...well maybe...maybe without photos.  we'll see how things go this week.

gonna try to make this post quick and dirty (well not really).  heehee...

first off, my reveal and take on the Inspired Blueprints sketch #50:
and for lucky luckiez:
(supplies:  American Crafts, Hambly, Webster's, Fiskars, EK Success, Martha Stewart, A Million Memories kit)

i have already done my 1st reveal for Scrap Tiffany which will be out on July 5th.  i'll give you a sneaky peeky at a later date.  i'm trying to get ahead of the game since we are gonna be on the move the next 2 1/2 weeks or less.

here's the full reveal for my hub'z father's day card i made for him:
and the rest of the deetz:
you can find a couple of more the little details by clicking here.  i just love Pink Paislee pp's!

we celebrated father's day a day early at Red Robin:
yes...i know i'm crazy...lol!

here are a few thangz we did this past weekend...some of which we will do again in the future, i.e., when we return back someday...

...a going away party getaway for my hubz (thrown by his now former colleagues):
unfortunately, i don't have any photos from the party.  i had to take off for a bit to drop off maiya with her dad for the weekend.  but i did return to the party about 30 minutes laters.  darn!

...our last lunch stop at one of our fave places to eat, New Sushi Teriyaki, get a load of my fam (w/o maiya since she was with her dad):

...our last sibling brunch for awhile...at Shari's...

i'm gonna miss these thangz and timez. (most of all i'm gonna miss my family and friends!) i'll just make sure when we do come visit, we do these for sure.

hmmm, i'm not very good at quick posts, am i?!?!?  aaaaaah well!!!

we'll be on our road trip this coming saturday.  the movers are coming today hopefully to start packing our stuff, then hotel it, then we have to take care of a few things before saturday.  i'm taking some scrappiness with me too! i'm gonna try to get some kind of scrappy arts in while staying at the hotels.  hmmm?  we'll see.

well gonna end this post now...hopefully i'll be able to blog a bit the next couple of weeks even if it's short and w/o photos.  until then...happy times!

look what i did this morning....

here's the inside:
and for my signature (w/c i always put in the back of my cards w/ punched butterflies):

this is a birthday card for my mom-in-law..it's coming up..happy birthday mom/mimi!  i used papers from a scrapbook kit one of my co-workers got me as a going-away gift.

here's a card  i did awhile back for my bro's graduation for the National Guard:
so proud of him!  used pretty much American Crafts for this one.

i pretty much have been taking pix all day of my everyday stuff...thinking about doing a little project for it too.  but today i'm also gonna at least organize my photos in a photobox, spend maybe an hour doing it, gotta do it little by little.  then maybe take some inventory photos of one of our rooms since i was not able to do it yesterday like i planned.  i decided to change my plans at the last minute and went to my work's bbq recognition celebration.  and i'm glad i did b/c i had so much fun....there was a band playing, some co-workers...so talented...never knew we had some american idolz in our group.  took some photos too...
i'm gonna miss working there...but...life must go on.

tfl!  gonna get a snack...i'm feeling kinda hungry to my tummy!

  • me and my daughter are gonna dye our hair a dark red after she gets home from school
  • of course post something, right?
  • ...then do whateva!  it's friday sucka!
i was going to post these separately, but...i'm gonna do it in one shot. here they are...

this one was inspired by my daughter, maiya. it had just turned spring and she had the cutest description of the blooming cherry blossoms...check it out:
the pinky, cottony candy deetz:

here's an LO i did the beginning of april a little after Kelly Purkey's online class, using her sketch #12.  i was inspired one day going thru some paperwork and came across my very old old passport.  instead using myself, my hubby was guest star of this LO. used silver ink and journaling frames stamps to mimic passport stamps, did a lot of tone on tone punched stars as well.  these photos of my hubz were photos he took for his passport and they had him wear that 'funky shirt' (his words).  had to redact some of the id info. isn't my hubz handsome?  check it out...

THIS LAYOUT WAS TEMPORARILY TAKEN OUT...WILL BE REPOSTED....

sorry the photo of this LO isn't all that...i kept taking it in so many angles, lighting, inside, outside and for some reason it just would not do me good.  anyway....here's a few deetz:

have a great friday and weekend.  happy mother's day!  i'm off to go for a jog!
