oh this past week...

so much has happened this past week... i need to start blogging about my weeks more often...it'll help me out with my PL albums.... duh....

picked up Maiya from the airport, she spent the president's holiday weekend in WA.

Tuesday....selene was so patient and good getting her teeth cleaned...she started to get a little antsy at the end but she did fine. one little cavity that the dentist said it has not grown since her last visit and would like to keep an eye on it. it most likely will go away in time.

Wednesday....maya's student-led conference... this one for some reason was extra fun. got to see her art and home ec classes and what she's been up to.  these two classes are her faves (and they were mine too back in the day!).

i don't get to take photos with my Zumba students because...well i forget to.....yikes!  this was after my Friday class and just taking a quick one with Vivian, one of my students.  she rocks and so does her mom (who was at work at the time)!  i love my Z peepZ!

Friday...we tried Indian food for the very first time at Bombay Deluxe Restaurant.  had the tandoori chicken ( a bit overcooked but very tasteful).  and selene loved the naan bread too!

the only scrapping i did this weekend: cut out from a Zumba shoe box,
from an Ipsy envelope, slap them all on a white textured yardstick.......
and there you have it, a layout...although i never bothered to adhere them.

saturday...morning... de-cluttered my container... got rid of some brads i no longer needed and kept the basic colors, b&w, all the silver, gold and copper ones.  then added my wooden veneers, metal embellies and other trinkets i know i'll use in my future projects.  aaah it felt good to rid of the old. that same morning taught my Zumba Saturday class here on base (JBER, AK) and man oh man, PACKED HOUSE!  53 students!  2 sign in sheets, front & back!  aaa-oo!  what a great morning!

LOVE INSTAX!

...then used up selene's claire gift cards at the dimond mall, window shopping at best buy (planning to buy a fitbit performance as my polar watch sucks now) and dinner at chili's.

we ended last night with a few episodes of breaking bad and i blog surfed for a bit.

then.... i gave in to the planner bandwagon...well really i realized i need one as using my iPhone just was not efficient, only for scheduling appointments, daily events, but not for to do lists and future planning purposes.  so... i got this....

a simple stories carpe diem planner!  along with some other accessories:   a 6-hole puncher,

Bookmark W/Sticky NotesCarpe Diem Plastic Bookmarks 3/Pkg, and Carpe Diem A5 Plastic Zippered Storage Pouch.

i had done some research on youtube and found that this was pretty much the best one.  and from what i see, i can see why.  it had great reviews on amazon, which i rely on a bunches.  can hardly wait to get it along with the goodies.  i am not planning to buy all the other stuff, since i have supplies of my own.  but the ones i may in the future are the dividers and the daily inserts.  i wanna see first how it goes and I'm sure it will awesome.  waiting waiting....so impatient.  LOL.

today:  taught my Zumba Sunday class and one of my JBER students came too!; playtime for Selene at the Arctic Oasis Community Center, commissary and lastly, i'm here right now at the airport waiting to pick up Maiya.

well this starbucks lemon pound cake is right in front of me waiting to be devoured...  drooling as a i type this.  gotta go . xoxo.

LOVE 12.26.15 + US

oh my goodness....  i was uploading photos from my canon and discovered that i forgot to post this layout that i did beginning of january....

it's been a long time since i've done a "LOVE __.__.__" layout.  did this one for my 44th birthday of instax photos of my family during the celebration at sushisushi <--- after="" all="" and="" because="" by="" can="" cocoa="" daisy="" decluttering="" did="" easily="" find="" from="" happy="" i="" kits.="" love="" m="" nbsp="" now="" old="" p="" place="" re-organizing="" so="" stuff="" supplies="" supply="" that="" them="" to="" trying="" type.="" up="" use="" used="">
and another more recent layout.... "US"

again, here old supplies from cocoa daisy kits + ali edwards story kit and stamp set "old & new".

i'm starting to do more white space in my layouts.  i just love the cleaner look of it + i do them faster when don't go all over the page...duh.   my fave parts of this one is the photos (of course) + the stamped frame around them.  i really like AE's tiny word stamps for this purpose and i see myself using them elsewhere too, project life and for when I travel this summer (dude...how many times have i mentioned this before?  shit... i should someday count it...LOL!).

simplicity = progress.  hey, that's my one little word!  HEEHEE.... speaking of OLW for this month... i have been doing alright with the prompt (this month's = practice).  i have missed 4 days and that's ok because other shit (mostly the good) has been going and takes over. plus it's nice to have to do it once in awhile.  but i do love the fact that i'm starting to document my Zumba choreography with this month's prompt.  got something to reference to and being inspired for future moves.  once the month is over, don't worry...i'll share the layouts from my OLW album.

well got a lot on today's agenda:  drop off Maiya at school, Selene's gymnastics, maiya's school conference, come home and prep dinner, Maiya's "beauty" appointment (okay, she's gonna kill me...she gets waxed...ok?), then lastly...i teach my Zumba class here at the base.

FULL day. woot! love it! ....xoxo.

V-Day cards

here are the remaining cards....

used the ali edwards "heart" story kit & stamp set on these and embossing were the main attractions on them too.

i'll have to post my layout a bit later.  forgot to upload/edit the photos.  ooopsies.

da partay..... Zumba style!

woot!  aaa-oo!  it was a great weekend!

i started out with a Zumba Pre-Valentine's Day Party here at JBER at the Elmendorf Gym.  i did this party all by myself!  it was such a great success!  and almost everyone wore either red, pink and/or white.  there was LOTS of pink!  it was so pretty!  i had 53 students total (could have been more, but this is how many signed in and i forgot to do a physical count)!!!!!  53!!!!  here's a few snapshots...

i love my Z peepZ!  (not everyone shown here!  there was a whole lot
more who either had to leave early or were by the side)

had to take a goofy one coZ that's my style!

SOOOO FUN!!!!!  and everyone enjoyed themselves!  so so happy that it turned out AWESOME!  it was fun doing the decor too!  so proud of myself for pulling this off solo!  AAA-OO!

i just got word that my ali edwards' story stamp kit (this months theme:  CRAFT) is on its way!!!!  can hardly wait to play with it and i'm planning to use it for this Zumba  party i just had.  it is gonna go perfect for this event/layout either on a scrap page and/or my project life album..... wish it was here now!  you should totally subscribe to both the kit and stamp set...it's so worth it, money wise and space-wise.  i am definitely bringing them along when we travel this summer!!!!

i'll be sharing in a post after this one some of the valentine's day cards and a layout i created recently. i am on a roll!  stay tuned..very soon!

HAWT + A + Zumba

a few things to share....

"HAWT!" layout...

used a stamp from the ali edwards story stamp set "old & new".  did i already say how much i love her story kit/stamp set?
went for the gold look here, ranger crackle paint, small punched star using a Fiskars star punch and those lines are done with a gold sharpie marker.

and another stamp "Then|Now" from the same ali edwards story stamp set.  and currently my obsession are the new clear letter stamps from christine herrin i used for my title "HAWT!"  i love her style and recently purchased the Wander Edition Project Life Core Kit she designed.  can hardly wait to use them.  definitely planning to use it for when we travel this summer.  woot woot!

and now for a V-day card i made for one of my daughters and has already been mailed out to her....

those hearts and the "hello heart" stamp are from the ali edwards story stamp set "heart."  i embossed the hearts with pink Zing. i'm getting back into embossing now.  I have so neglected them for so long.  thank you ali edwards for the inspo!
created a border with that "hello heart" stamp...just love how it completed this card.  when i first saw the size of these tiny stamps in the set...i thought, shit, these are tiny, how am i gonna use these?  wtf!  well came up with this idea for this card and did the same on a layout i shared here.  i'll be using this technique a lot more especially with these tiny cuties.  lol.

and lastly, some cards i created as a thank you attached to Zumba prizes for a Zumba Pre-Valentine's Party i'll be teaching this coming Saturday...

used a bunch of project life cards in colors of pink, red & white (blush edition & cherry edition, which are no longer available), stamped them, punched holes and wrapped them with twine around each prize.  it just made these goodies more special as prizes for my students.  nice cute touch. they are gonna love them.
can hardly wait to give these out and see their expressions on their faces.  this party is gonna be FUN!

on another note, i am currently doing the one little word prompt for this month.  so far i've been doing good, missed a couple of days and that's ok.  i've accepted that.  "strive for progress not perfection." loving this process.

and have been doing the 52 lists by moorea seal too.  i'm actually not doing it on a weekly basis.  i have been doing it randomly when i can.  luckily i found a journal i bought a LONG time ago.  it's a journal i could never figure out what to use for and put it away and forgot about it.  it just so happened i was looking for something to use for the 52 lists and found it on my scrap table in one of my caddies.  not sure why i never noticed it before until recently.  it now has a purpose in my life. YES!  if i remember, i'll share one or more of my lists here.  or i may not and keep it to myself.  hmmm.  stay tuned.

it's already been a busy week!  well gotta get off this and get my butt off this couch! scrapping? sweeping the floors? more laundry?  hmmm...i may multi-task.  LOL. until next time...xoxo.
