our youngest turned 5 yesterday!!!! and we had a birthday party for her at the Aurora Kids Gymnastics with a few of her friends and family (grandparents are in town for the week too!).  she had a blast and so did the adults...wink!

i used some project life cards from the jade core kit, stamped {THANK YOU} and the heart and had Selene write her own name on them, punched holes and attached them to the paper lunch bags with twine. for the paper bags, i cut off about 2 inches from the top and used a fiskars border punch.  one boy and five girls. simple and cute. they loved their goodies.

i have finished it and so love how it turned it out.  i love doing this project and plan on doing it again throughout the year.  i had gotten the mini-kit and used all the journaling cards and only have a few left of the cute circle chipboards left.  i am not sure i'll be getting future ones since i do have the story kits to use plus stuff from my stash.  but i will be participating for sure.  once i take photos of this album i'll share....

not sure what we plan on doing today.  i have today and the next 2 days off.  my parents are in town from WA until this coming friday.  so happy they are here. and oh my these next couple of months before we move to OH are gonna be busy ones with jesse's cousin coming in next month and my sis and her family coming in june.  FULL HOUSE the next couple of months!  love it!

my goals this month is to study my butt off for my ACE Personal Trainer Certification exam which is in early may.  then the next couple of months: get some project life layouts done, maiya's album done (not sure i'll have it done before she leaves), prep for 4 Zumba master classes (2 of them with instructors and the last 2 of just me, myself and i) and get ready for our move.   BUSY BiZY!!!!

almost a year...what a record? LOL!

oh my!  it's been almost a year since my last post...  bad jenn!   life has been extremely busy.  i have been teaching more Zumba almost everyday, subbing and my own classes.   the girls' activities have also been on my calendar as well.  gymnastics, volleyball, etc.  but now i get these next 4 days off!  especially since it's my 44th birthday this saturday!  i'm so excited!

i have not scrapbooked anything not even a card for almost 5-7 months...and i'm not sure exactly when and what...i think it was my girlfriend's going away album that i made for her...and i think i deleted those photos...shoot!  (no pun intended)  but i recently got so inspired at my hubby's squadron's holiday party last week...

so i started blog surfing some of my fave scrappers/project lifers... ali edwards, amanda zampelli, rachel delgrosso...to name a few to get inspiration.  i'm also participating ali's one little word 2016 to jumpstart my creativity and to start of the new year on a good scrappy note.

after all this blog stalking... i mean surfing... i decided to do a day in the life album too....had over 40 photos but chose only 35 of them...not all of course are shown here...just wanted to show my fave layouts in the album...

i used the project life midnight edition core kit.  this is one of my fave pl kits.  I have a collection of PL kits but i seem to go back to this one (and the seafoam kit too!).  they are just more neutral in color and tone, so versatile.  plus i am changing my approach to doing PL now, more the minimalistic way.  this is not to say i won't use my other kits...wink!

so...my goal is to start focusing and doing my PL albums, and finish them!  right now, i'm still working on my PL 2013 and am doing lots of layouts for may & june '13.  i have a printer that can print photos, but it gets costly with the ink.  so whenever snapfish & shutterfly have photo print sales, i go for it!

i'm still working on uploading and sometimes editing photos for 2015.  i'm gonna be doing april soon.  yes, i'm that behind.  oh well, it will get done, on my time.  i so admire those who are doing current PL's, but...it just hasn't been that way for me with my schedule.  I haven't even done a scrap page, which i miss doing, in soooo long!  blame it on Zumba!  hahahhaha...

i have had a busy Zumba teaching schedule the past 2 months now... but it will be one class less in january 2016, a nice break (but man i love to teach!)

BUT.... i did some scrapping during the first half of this year...

wow!  only 2 scrap pages and the rest cards... pretty good for someone who hasn't scrapped in awhile.   

i traditionally do a birthday layout either the day/night before or the morning of my birthday.  and yes...i'm doing one!  i have 2 photos printed out and the supplies i plan on using for it. i plan on using about 5 different cocoa daisy kits for it.  i am thinking i'm going to keep it simple this time.  i usually go all out but like i said before, i am gonna try to be a minimalist this time, something different.  in fact, i think i may start it after this post.  lol!

for 2016 i hope:

• to keep teaching Zumba 
• finish up my 2013 PL album
• start up a PL album for selene's 0 to 5 (maiya has one for 0 to 8 yrs)
• scrap a page or a card every other month
• keep up with my blog posts
• pass my ACE personal trainer certification in May 2016
• be a better military spouse (especially now that hubby has recently ranked up)
• keep improving on being a better mom & wife too (there's alway room for improvement, if you say not so, then you're lying to yourself)

a few things i want to do next year...not a long list but these are things that do take time....and i can hardly wait to tackle them.

4.16.13...maiya's fave band right now, although she recently found out they broke up awhile back.
she is determined that they will get back together.

4.20.13...there's a bookworm in the house...well she loves to "re-organize" them from the bookshelf

4.22.13...her 1st time to do a lil pee-pee in the potty...but since then she has been kinda resistant to sit on it, but does like to sit on the "big" potty...hopefully she'll get over that hump.

4.23.13...it's the 80's...well wearing the 80's look for maiya at school for spirit week, she even had braided hair.

4.24.13..."it's moments like these i don't want to ever forget" (see what i did in the top right corner? my 2nd try in doing some photoshop layering on a photo)

4.25.13...this was part of a series of events in the life of my 2 babies...

 4.27.13...early in the morning while everyone in this house is sleeping...movie time with my baby boo maiya, watched Scary Movie V...these 2 girlies love project life too!

4.28.13...just chillin' watching some shows...tried a new recipe from pinterest, taco pie...getting a little corky around here.

4.30.13...this is my 2nd time to join in on the fun on ali edwards' day in the life, still in the process of editing in photoshop.

i've been blog surfing quite a bit regarding becky higgins' project life system
i am seriously thinking of doing it.
just not sure when i'll start.
for now...
research, blog surfing for now on the subject to get ideas & inspo....
i have no intention of taking photos every single day.
life stuff gets in the way or i just plain out forget to take a photo.
my 365 day joint didn't quite work out last year too.
i'll be using my blog of course to jot down noted stuff, special stuff or just plain out everyday stuff.
who knows.
the sky's the limit.

i've been working on my "week in my life" album and it's been going quite well and fast.
i've been doing little by little whenever the lil one is taking a nap.
the only thing is i forgot to order pix for the last day!!!!

so i'll be ordering those soon since snapfish has a deal going on again until tomorrow.
