silly kiss kiss
there was a whole lot of going on on ScrapTiffany these past few days. this week's challenge for the ScrapTiffany Design Team was to do some crafty goodness with some black & white (b&w) photos. the first reveal was this past monday. today is part 2 of this fun challenge.
i love b&w photos. i plan on taking more with this tone.
go check out today's reveal and click here: Week #30 Challenge, Part 2 on ScrapTiffany
and here's mine for you to take a nice look at:
and for the ditties:
do you see the bright pink rub-ons under the journaling and purple transparencies? it was a goof at 1st. what happend was i was cutting a rub-on out and accidentally set it on the middle photo and when it was time for me to pick it up and rub it in the corners of my LO....it got stuck on my photo! but then i thought, it looks kinda cool there...hmmm... so i cut out more rub-ons and added it to the other 2 photos, added more embellies and the journaling on top and voila, a nice cluster of elements that added that nice umph to my page. i guess some "mistakes" were meant to be huh?
my hubby thought this LO was "cool" and he liked the "background colors." is he sounding like a scrapbook critic? i think so. wink! ; )
i had text this to my daughter maiya the day i finished it (yes...she's the other cute one in these photos...LOL!). i spoke to her last nite and asked her about it and she said she loved it and said "thank you mommy."
thank you baby boo for loving me.
if you would like to play along with me and the ScrapTiffany Design Team for this week's challenge, email Tiffany your fab-o-lous creation!!!!
and for other jd news...
this saturday we plan on going to malibu and santa monica to check out the beaches and from what our other daughter notes..."the luxury"..."the place where the stars are." she's so adorable isn't she?
well have a great weekend and until next time...see ya peepz!

a nice 39 yrs and a sneaky peeky
i had made a card for my parents's 39th anniversary, and today i made a layout of/for them too today. i used the Inspired Blueprints sketch #52 for this one. i really love how this turned out.
and for the close-ups:
(supplies: Webster's, Little Yellow Bicycle, Prima, American Crafts, Wausau, Tattered Angels, Ranger, Rubberstampede, Uniball Signo, EK Success, Martha Stewart, Fiskars)
i tore a piece of paper to use as a template over my photo, and sprayed Glimmer Mist around it. Sprayed some GM at random points in my LO. of course my punched butterflies had to make it on this page with some punched borders with doodling and some brads for an added touch.
i so especially love the b&w photo of my folks. i love this LO...and so does my stepdaughta! heeehee.
here's a sneaky peeky of what's in store for this friday's reveal on ScrapTiffany:
don't forget to check it out.
have a lovely thursday!

this past weekend...
we went to ikea in burbank. my hubby bought me a nice scrap table, just for me. well of course i'm gonna share too with my girlies. i love ikea and i love my hubby. wink!
here it is fully and lovingly assembled by my wonderful hubby:
here's a sneak of what my scrap land looks like...
before and after my ikea galant scrap table:
the before...
and the after...
i have a lot of my scrapbook kits, cardstocks, stamps, inks, paints, patterned papers and a lot of embellies stored in plastic bins underneath the table. and other papers and embellies in the white bins to the right. slowly but surely everything around and under the table will have a new nice storage container just so it looks at least pretty pretty. still debating on whether to make another ikea run for this one or two cubicle furniture we found there. we'll wait and see, i'm in no rush.
i also have some other scrap supplies and tools stored in one of the other smaller kitchen pantries. my scrap area is right by the kitchen.
you can't see from this picture but the sides go deeper right and left. we're fortunate enough that our house has plenty of storage closets/areas. weeeh!
off on another note...these have now retired...
a pair of Abercrombie shorts my hubby has had since summer of 2005. they started ripping at the ends, then in the middle and then were done. after ikea we headed to the nearby mall and went to aeropostale where he got 2 nice pairs of cargo shorts, buy one get one free...great deal! woohoo! he had such a big smile after he made his special purchase.
tore his retired one up and will be using some of the scraps someday. i have already took one of the labels and scrapped it in my journal.
tonight i made some bulgogi for the first time for the family and i have to say...."i am a great chef!!!" yumm-o!
aaaaaahhhh yeaaaaah!!! will be making this one again someday!
have a great nite! gonna chill with my family outside and enjoy a drink and then jump on the trampoline! weeehhhh! yey-yah!

featuring a fashionista
it's that time again to do a nice full reveal, fashion-week-style, on the ScrapTiffany blog today for the Weekly Challenge: "Brads & Eyelets." the ScrapTiffany Design Team and I have some fab-o-lous creations to show you today, so go on over and check it out and play along by clicking here: Week #29, Challenge, Part 2.
for my take, i did one on my daughter entitled "She is Maiya the Fashionista." i used some alpha brads i got from Joann's Fabrics that were on sale as part of the title. i also used some silver brads at the left top corner of my LO which added extra interest to the hand-cut arrows and it helped move the eyes towards the pictures. then i decked out punched circles and punched stars with some different colored brads just to add a little texture and a little bling-y-ness to them. for this LO, i used the Creative Scrappers sketch #112. i love their sketches!
here it is, featuring of course, my baby boo:
and some close-ups of the brads deetz:

i miss my baby boo
i am so grateful to be able to spend time with my stepdaughter, ashley, this summer.
but i really miss my baby boo, maiya. i miss spending time with her, laughing with her, making her laugh, funny kisses before bedtime, saying i love you to her face to face, etc, etc, etc.
she is with her dad for the rest of the summer and comes back home to us next month on the 15th, the day before school. we talk on the phone during the week just to say hi, goodnite and talk a little about what she has been up to. i really miss her and can hardly wait til she comes home.
a few snapshots of her favez...
beef udon soup at new sushi teriyaki in lacey, wa:
oh yeahhhh, ice cream at 31 flavors:
she loves rainbow sherbert, daiquiri ice, mint chocolate chip, but her all time fave is vanilla, sweet and simple. i think i might just have to treat her to some when she comes back home.
i love you baby boo. waiting for you to come safely home.
