a mini album for a 92nd bday

here's what i made for my grandpa's 92nd bday....

used some old basic grey pp's as background, some scrap strips:  my mind's eye, cosmo cricket, lily bee, crate paper.
buttons by basic grey & jesse james & co.
paints & mists:  ranger, craftsmart, glitter mists.
staples, twine as accents.
and my nifty pens:  sharpie & uniball signo.
punches galore:  fiskars, ek success & martha stewart.
and of course cut up my cocoa daisy & amazon boxes for the bases.
put it all together with the rings & yey-yah....a nice mini album!
love how this pulled together and hope my gramps loves it too!

92 years young

this past sunday we celebrated my grandpa's 92nd birthday.
we headed over to sun city to meet up with familyat my grandparents's home.

my hood and other happenings

other happenings...

leap year day (2.29.2012) was a trip to starbucks w/my lil girliez.
i had a tall, skinny caramel macchiato.
maiya had a tall vanilla bean frappaccino, her very 1st.
me, i've mine...many timez!

never had one of these...
might have to try one, one of these dayz...

love these burgers...
hadn't had one of theirs in so long...
picked up 2, one for me, and one for maiya...

daddy is back home...
he's been back for 2 dayz now...
this photo was taken the nite he came back...

selene is now trying to walk even more now...
thank goodness, she's getting more into it now that daddy is back home...

and last night we had dinner at souplantation...
this was maiya's 1st time there.
she loved the clam chowda!
my fave was the lentil & spinach soup, had 2 bowls of it (hey the bowls are small!!!)...
(pssst!  btw...i love those red bowls!!!)...

even though some of the pix were a bit blurry, i thought the blurriness was so kewl.
so...
i refused to delete them from my hard drive.
they are scrap-worthy.

this morning i gotta make a pasta dish for a potluck birthday party for a very special person...
my grandpa who has just turned 92!
wow!
then we've got about a bit over 2 hour drive to head over to the party.
can hardly wait!'
excited to also see family i hadnt seen in years!

1st of the month

okay, gonna try this out too...

have you heard of NaBloPoMo?
i ran into just recently.

so this is my 1st post for march.
it works out too b/c i'm also doing the photo-a-day for this month too.
all you have to do is post every single day for the month of march.

i'll have to post my day 1 photo a little later.
i'll try my best to best them daily.
but if life gets in the way or i just plain forget...
i'll make sure to post it as a batch on another day.
how about that?

one more day til my hubz comez from school in alabama.
as i post this...he's packing right now.
i wish he could come tonight, but he's got graduation in the a.m. tomorrow.
so..
i'll have to wait til tomorrow nite!
can hardly wait!
i miss my hubz!
